GRP Fibreglass Roofing
Glass-reinforced plastic (GRP) fibreglass is the premium choice for modern flat roofs. Laid as a liquid on site, it bonds seamlessly to the roof deck forming a rigid, monolithic surface with no joins, seams or weak points. A coloured topcoat provides UV protection and a clean, professional finish. GRP is the system of choice for extensions, bay windows, balconies and roof terraces.
EPDM Rubber Roofing
EPDM (ethylene propylene diene monomer) rubber membranes have been used in commercial roofing for over 40 years and are increasingly popular for residential applications. Large single-ply sheets eliminate seams entirely. EPDM is exceptionally flexible, accommodating thermal movement in the roof deck without cracking, and remains elastic across a huge temperature range.
Torch-on Felt Roofing
Torch-on felt uses polymer-modified bitumen sheets applied with a gas torch, fusing each layer to create a fully-bonded, durable waterproof membrane. Applied in two layers — an underlay and a cap sheet — the system provides excellent all-round performance at a competitive price point. Modern torch-on systems are a significant step up from traditional mineral felt.

EPDM rubber has the longest expected lifespan, typically exceeding 40 years with minimal maintenance. GRP fibreglass follows at 25+ years. Both far outlast traditional mineral felt, which typically lasts 10–15 years before needing replacement.
How long does a GRP fibreglass flat roof last?
A correctly installed GRP flat roof lasts 25 years or more. The seamless surface eliminates the joins that are the most common failure point in other systems. GRP is also impact-resistant and UV-stable, making it ideal for roofs with regular foot access.
Is EPDM or GRP better for a flat roof?
Both are excellent. GRP is better for complex shapes, small areas, and applications requiring a hard walkable surface. EPDM suits large simple areas and where maximum longevity matters most. We'll recommend the right system for your specific roof, usage and budget.
